Blacksburg Transit will be making several service changes for Fall 2026 based on feedback received from passengers. These updates will improve service consistency and maintain reliable connections throughout the service day.
Below is a list of the most significant updates; routes not listed did not see any significant change.
Riders are encouraged to review updated schedules before traveling.
All changes will be effective with the start of Intermediate Service on August 17, except the changes to BMR. BMR changes will be effective with the start of Full Service on August 24.
Route Updates:
- CAS – Weekday service will run every 15 minutes starting at 7:00 AM until 9:15 AM, every 12 minutes 9:15 AM until 5:30 PM, and every 15 minutes 5:30 PM until 10:00 PM. After 10 PM weekdays and all-day weekends, service will run every 30 minutes.
- PHB (Weekdays) – Will externed service to 9:30 PM transitioning from 12 minute frequency to 20 minute frequency at 6:30 pm. (This route does not operate during Intermediate Service)
- HWA, HWB, & HWC (Weekdays) – HWA and HWB will be extended from 12:15 PM to 6:30 PM, then transition to HWC at 6:30 PM.
- CRB (Weekdays) – Service will begin at 7:35 AM until 12:35 PM and run every 20 minutes. After 12:35 PM please use HWA, HWB or HWC. (This route does not operate during Intermediate Service)
- !ROUTE DIRECTIONAL CHANGE! BMR (Weekdays) – From Chicken Hill, this route will follow the same path along Beamer Way, Washington St., Kent St., and Stanger St. to the Maroon Loop where the new timecheck will be Bay 4. From the Maroon Loop, the route will now follow the same path in reverse to Chicken Hill.
The Orange Loop and stops along West Campus Drive and McComas Hall will no longer be served by the BMR route.
Service will run every 20 minutes beginning at 7:10 AM until 9:30 PM. (These changes will not take effect until August 24)
- HDG (Weekdays) – Service will run every 20 minutes beginning at 7:00 AM until 5:40 PM and will run every 30 minutes after 5:45 PM until the end of service.
- !ROUTE DIRECTIONAL CHANGE! HXP (Weekday) – From Oak Lane, this route will follow the same route along Oak Lane, Duck Pond and Washington Street to the traffic circle. At the traffic circle the route will turn down West Campus Drive to the Orange Loop where the new timecheck will be Bay 15. From the Orange Loop, the route will follow the same path in reverse to Oak Lane.
The Maroon Loop and stops along Stanger St. Kent St. and Washington St. (from West Campus Drive to Kent St.) will no longer be served by the HXP route.
Service will run every 20 minutes starting at 7:10 AM until 8:30 AM, every 12 minutes between 8:30 AM until 6:00 PM, and every 20 minutes between 6:00 PM until 9:30 PM. After 9:30 PM, please use the new route HXS.
- !NEW ROUTE! HXS (Late Night & Weekend) – From Oak Lane, this route will follow the same route as the HXP to the Orange Loop. From the Orange Loop, the route will travel via Prices Fork to serve the Maroon Loop, Stanger St., Kent St. and Washington St. on the return to Oak Lane. Service will run every 30 minutes after 9:30 pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.
- CRC (Weekend) - Weekend service will now extend service to 9:45 p.m.
Two Town Trolley Route Updates: TTT is now split into two different routes. The Two Town Trolley Hospital (TTH) and Two Town Trolley Spradlin Farms (TTS). TTH will remain the same as the current TTT. TTS will add service to the Spradlin Farms Shopping Center (Target), but will not service the hospital area.
- TTH (Weekdays & Weekends) – Operates on both weekdays and weekends year-round. This route leaves the Maroon Loop at :15 minutes after the hour and will serve LewisGale Hospital Montgomery, Uptown Mall, Walmart and Marketplace Shopping Center. This route does not service Spradlin Farms Shopping Center.
- !NEW ROUTE! TTS (Weekend) – Operates only on weekends during Full Service. This route leaves the Maroon Loop at :45 minutes after the hour and will serve Uptown Mall, Walmart, Spradlin Farms Shopping Center (Target) and Marketplace Shopping Center. This route does not go to the hospital and does not run during Reduced Service.
